We visited Jehu Garcia, a DIY Powerwall builder and enthusiast, and the folks at EV West in Southern California as well as the University of Michigan Battery Lab to see just how DIY Powerwalls can power your home, your car, and even the rest of your neighborhood.  The rechargeable batteries in your laptop, your cell phone, your headphones: all of these can be used to power your life and take you off the grid. Rechargeable lithium-ion battery installations may be the future of power.

Kelvin Doe talks about the importance of African's changing their own narrative about the continent. Doe is a self-taught Sierra Leonean engineer. A true inventor by age fifteen, Kelvin built his own radio station using discarded scrap metal and electrical items that he found in his home town. Kelvin finds solutions to problems in his community, for example, making batteries to light homes in Sierra Leone where electricity supply is inconsistent, building a generator, even an FM radio station.
